Classes are taught by nationally acclaimed sensei Dr Richard Catterick who holds a 4th degree black belt in Seishin Mizu Ryu, a 3rd degree black belt in Jikishin Jiu Jitsu plus teaching grades/qulaifiications in two other national jiu jitsu styles. In competiton he has always excelled the pinnicle of which was placing second in the British national groundfighting championships (open weight black belt category).

He continues to study Tai Chi Chuan, Ryukyu Kobujutsu (weapons) , Kenjutsu (sword) and Gracie Jiu Jitsu (ground fighting) and has developed many fine students and black belt instructors.
